Acupuncture

Contemporary Medical Acupuncture is a modern twist on Traditional Acupuncture. The practitioner is taught to look at each individual's symptoms on a functional level.

Acupuncture needles are very fine and actually have a blunted tip which allows them to slide in and out of tissue easily and with little to no tissue damage. When done properly, acupuncture can be quite painless.

Needles can be inserted into skin, muscles, joints, fascia and even the periosteum of bone. Electro-acupuncture is used to increase the effect of the acupuncture needle and can assist to increase circulation, increase sensation, decrease sympathetic nerve firing and release hormones.

Some common conditions that respond well to acupuncture treatments include headaches/migraines, arthritis, tendonitis, low back pain, sciatica, sports injuries, trigger points, neuropathies, insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, surgical scars, etc.
